Jillian was living in DC and working for Deloitte Consulting. Raised on the East-coast, she loved living in big cities and being near the ocean. She earned her masters from NYU and spent an additional year in New York before starting her career in DC. She loves all that DC offers, including the free museums, outdoor parks, and great food.
Tyler grew up on the high plains of Western Kansas and graduated from the University of Kansas. Following a rewarding decade of work with Kansas Democrats culminating with historic statewide and congressional wins he followed his sense of adventure to Colorado to pursue outdoor passions that included cycling, skiing and mountaineering.
In May of 2011 Tyler and Jillian were introduced by a mutual friend at a wedding. A long-distance friendship formed in the months following the wedding.
Their first date ended with Jillian and Tyler spontaneously hiking to campsite in the Rocky Mountain foothills. Tyler woke up the next day knowing he'd found someone who matched his appetite for adventure. Travel and adventure continued to be an important part of their relationship; throughout their relationship the couple traveled to many differents places together.
In May 2012, Tyler and Jillian moved together to Kansas City. Tyler began organizing for the 2014 Kansas Governor's race and Jillian joined the team at H&R Block. In June, they adopted their first dog - Wilbur. In January, Wilbur would be joined by Lucy.
Following the conclusion of the 2014 Election they returned to make their home in Washington, DC. Jillian is a Manager at Deloitte and Tyler is the State Legislative Coordinator for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Jillian and Tyler were married September 18th, 2015 in Long Branch, New Jersey.
